The Recall

Big girl, you’re a rookie, don’t you wash that old sweater,
Old man, she’ll chew your innards up, so don’t you let her,
Charming playboy, want to be divine, so let’s just cross the line,
Mother of four, he’s confused, so I used it to buy you time,

We’re all hunting for hearts,
And we tear ourselves apart,
But I’m looking for love,
That’s what everybody says,
So what,
Do. You. Want. From. Me?

Pretty lady, running mascara, left you on the curb with just a text,
Eager boy, it’s bad weather, to be calling me at 3 am, you're still an ex,

Ugly teenager, read those magazines for some advice for those zits,
There’s your teacher, giving birth to another set of chatty jujube pits,

We’re all hunting for hearts,
And we tear ourselves apart,
But I’m looking for love,
That’s what everybody says,
So what,
Do. You. Want. From. Me?

Are you going to break my heart again?
Turn around and hey, let’s just be friends?
Say it’s not you, it’s me?
That’s the reason we can’t be?
Are you ready for the start of a rerun episode?
I want to change the channel but you won’t let me go,
Is this real or just another trick?
Is there reason to believe it’ll stick?
This time around?

Young man, looking back from the mirror, rolling his eyes,
Understand, won't you try and reconsider, giving this another try?
